28 Aug Back Garden Frinton on Sea – Part 1
This is a blog about a back garden we are building in Frinton on Sea in Essex. To follow the progress of this project please subscribe for automatic updates on this blog. Please note, these updates do not represent the time taken to build the garden.
The clients are having a new house built and they also wanted the perfect garden for their new home. One of the advantages of this project is the site next door has not yet been started so we can get large machines and lorries direct into the back garden.

This garden used to be part of the neighbouring property. The garden when we arrived was mainly grass with some overgrown shrubs to the rear of the garden. The builders had their cement mixer setup in the middle of the garden.

We have cleared the garden only leaving one tree, a mountain ash. The soil in this garden is heavy clay so we imported grit into the garden and rotavated it into the clay to improve drainage. We then imported 40 tonne of recycled topsoil to ensure our clients can have the planting they require. One the topsoil was levelled we incorporated a soil improver. The rear planting beds are now ready to plant.
We have laid the base for the utility area to the rear of the garden, which will be screened with trellis. The summerhouse base has also been laid and the patio in front has now been started.
