Decking

Ever since Ground Force appeared on our TV’s in the late 1990’s, decking has become a key garden feature. The Ground Force presenters Alan Titchmarsh, Charlie Dimmock and Tommy Walsh seemed to include at least one timber structure in nearly every episode. But while many 90’s icons such as Baywatch, Roller Blades and Neon clothing have largely faded into history, garden decking has gone from strength to strength and is as popular today as it ever has been.

Timber Decking

Timber is the traditional material for garden decking and is incredibly versatile. There are plenty of types of timber to choose from. At Holland Landscapes we use FSC certified timber wherever possible more maximum sustainability. Modern Hardwood timbers such as Southern Yellow Pine and Yellow Balau are particular favourites but of course we will discuss the choices with you.

Composite Decking

Composite Decking is a mix of wood fibres, a recycled polyethene, bonding agent and colouring agents. The fabulous colourways available include contemporary grey, stunning dark charcoal and natural wood grain effect. But the really attractive thing about composite decking is that it is relatively lower maintenance.

COMBINING DECKING WITH OTHER LANDSCAPING MATERIALS
